OpenCode support is maintained by the community in
[etnperlong/opencode-chorus](https://github.com/etnperlong/opencode-chorus), not by the
Chorus team. Review that project's compatibility notes when upgrading OpenCode or Chorus.

Before you install, create an agent key by following
[Prepare agent access](/guides/administrator-setup/).

## Install the integration

Install the community integration with the `chorus` CLI:

```bash
npm install --global @chorus-aidlc/chorus
chorus agents add --agents opencode
```

`chorus agents add` runs `opencode plugin opencode-chorus -g`, registering the community
package in your global `~/.config/opencode/opencode.json`; OpenCode downloads it when it next
starts. OpenCode reads the credential from the shell, so set it in the environment used to
launch OpenCode:

```bash
export CHORUS_URL="https://chorus.example.com"
export CHORUS_API_KEY="cho_REDACTED"
```

## Verify the connection

Launch `opencode` and ask it to `check in to chorus`. Confirm that the response shows the
expected agent identity and permissions. This verifies the community MCP connection; it
does not imply first-party support.

## Capabilities and limits

- The community plugin provides Chorus MCP tools, skills, and hooks.
- OpenCode is not a Chorus daemon backend.
- Chorus does not guarantee remote start, transcript control, interrupt, or session
  recovery for OpenCode.
- Compatibility and conversation recovery depend on OpenCode and the community plugin.

## Common issues

- **Plugin does not load:** inspect `~/.config/opencode/opencode.json`, clear the community
  package cache if necessary, and restart OpenCode.
- **Environment changes are ignored:** launch OpenCode from a shell where `CHORUS_URL` and
  `CHORUS_API_KEY` are set.
- **Check-in is unauthorized:** rotate the agent key and restart OpenCode with the updated
  environment.
- **Behavior changed after an upgrade:** check the community project's releases and issues.

For general key problems, see [Troubleshoot agent connections](/guides/troubleshooting/).
